I thought I would blog about something that is very timely and on everyone’s minds….New Year’s resolutions. Yes, the dreaded, “what is your New Year’s resolution?” conversation is just around the corner. I find it interesting that people will wait months to implement the action steps to move them closer to their goals.
I am a HUGE fan of the late Jim Rohn, and I have been obsessively listening to his audio lately. Something stuck out to me the other day with respect to people achieving their goals. He simply said “Don’t be a part of the 95%!” Jim went on to explain that most people (around 95%) do not set goals. The ones that do will not take the necessary action steps to see their goals come to fruition. You may think to yourself that you are NOT part of the 95%! Take a closer look….the 95% watch more than 2 hours of television per day, they do not engage in Personal Development, they do not surround themselves with people who encourage and support them. Is this you?
My challenge to you today is to remove yourself from the 95%! Because guess what? It is the 5% of people that ARE achieving their goals, engaging in Personal Development, and have an amazing circle of influence that have a direct effect on the outcomes they experience in life. If you have been contemplating a resolution for 2013, I suggest that you move on it NOW! Don’t wait for January 1st to get into action. We all know that most resolutions are non-existent come February.
In my home based business over the last couple of weeks many people have said to me that they would rather wait until the New Year to start the business. It is truly shocking to me that people would put off their success? The other factor is that if most people (the 95%) think that way also, wouldn’t you want to take advantage of connecting with everyone who decided to wait until the New Year?!
Prove to yourself that you are capable of achieving your goals and sticking to them! By starting on your resolutions today you are proving to yourself and the external forces that you are serious about creating the results. Now, get clear on your goals and get to it!
